STICKS/STONES a crowdsourced text-based art exhibition! My debut solo show at TAG Gallery in Los Angeles was exhibited May 11-June 4, 2022.
Departing from my usual abstract figures, I drew inspiration from a crowdsourced project where I received more than 100 responses from around the world, answering the question, What is a phrase from your past that you still hear in your head? The collected entries were funneled through her artistic interpretation to create the Sticks/Stones text-based collection.
The Opening Reception far surpassed anything I could have imagined. To see my work fill the West Gallery at TAG filled me with pride and I continue to bask in that memory. Thank you to my family for all their love and support. And to those who flew into town for the Opening, well, damn, guys, that was really cool. I hugged friends I haven’t seen in years. I made new friends. And so many gallery visitors wrote their personal ‘phrase’ on post-it notes and stuck them on the gallery walls that I now have new ideas for new paintings. Can’t wait to get back to work. Loves
